Expected Price: Rs 55 lakh
Volkswagen New Touareg is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Volkswagen New Touareg Review

Volkswagen had unveiled the second-generation of the Touareg at 2010 New York International Auto Show. With the Volkswagen Touareg being a CBU, even India will get the 2011 Touareg once its launched in the European market.

Design/Styling:
The 2011 Touareg gets the new Volkswagen face and styling created by Walter de’Silva, Volkswagen’s chief of design. The front grille is now narrow if compared to the outgoing model and the trapezoidal headlamps even get the LED surrounds.  The silhouette of the Touareg remains almost similar, with not so arched wheel flares.  The new 2011 Touareg gets a crown hood with a step at its sides giving it a more muscular look. The SUV gets chrome garnish with chrome surrounds around the greenhouse and a strip running on the rocker. The rear of the new Touareg is more pronounced and gets LED taillamps as well.

Volkswagen's new RNS850 touch screen entertainment and navigation system features an 8-inch screen, a 60GB hard drive with 18GB of space available to upload audio, video, and more, and a DVD/CD player with MP3 playback and Satellite/FM/AM stereo.

Mechanicals:
The Volkswagen Touareg will be available with the same 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine, with 4-MOTION, which is Volkswagen’s term for all-wheel drive system.

Overall Evaluation:
This new 2011 Volkswagen Touareg will be a great buying option considering all the bells and whistles it comes loaded with. The newer SUV has more road presence than the older one and should have better sales figures if compared to the current Touareg. This will come true only if Volkswagen price it well.
Specs (Speculated)
Engine: 3.0-litre V6 TDI
Power: 239bhp
CarWale's Words: Should be a good option considering the features and styling.

Hyundai New Sonata (Upcoming)

Expected Price: Rs 13-16 Lakh
Hyundai New Sonata is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Hyundai New Sonata Review

After the launch of the new Verna, Hyundai is aiming at launching most of its new cars in India. Hence the decision to launch the Sonata is not a surprise. The Sonata features Hyundai’s  modern fluidic design philosophy and hence features a large chrome grille and massive projector headlamps. The coupe like theme continues and so does the large wraparound tail lamps. Inside, the theme is luxury with leather wrapping everything and cool blue mood lighting. Electric and optional heated seats are also available and so will features like cruise control. Powering the Sonata will be a 2.4-litre petrol offering 198bhp on tap with a diesel option following suit.

Tata Safari Storme (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs.7-11 Lakh
Tata Safari Storme is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Tata Safari Storme Review

The first Tata Safari was launched in the late 90s and since then it has been the flagship model on Tata Motors, until lately the Aria was launched in October 2010. The Safari has got two facelifts and engine changes. Tata Motors had even revealed its plans to make a new Safari on the newly developed X2 platform, on which the Aria has been built. However, for the time being the Pimpri-based manufacturer has given the Safari another facelift.
This time, the car gets the 2.2-litre engine from the Aria. The Aria sports the same Safari engine, but a large number of changes have been made to it in the refinement and vibrations department before it got plonked into the crossover. This same refined engine will now come fitted in the facelift Safari. The Safari will get new headlamps, new front grille and new hood. The conventional spare wheel has been moved below and it gets dual exhausts. The interiors have been revamped and it now gets grab door handles.
Specs (Speculated)
Engine: 2.2-litre DiCOR engine
Power:140bhp
CarWale's Words: Safari as a product is a good affordable SUV. We are expecting Tata to further improve the fit and finish of the car.

Chevrolet Enjoy (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 5-7lakh
Chevrolet Enjoy is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Chevrolet Enjoy Review

General Motors had announced that it will launch a few products from the SAIC Motor stable. To start off with, they will launch vehicles from the Wilung line-up which includes the CN-100 which is likely to compete with the Mahindr Xylo.

The new CN-100 is likely to be priced between Rs 5-7lakh and will be manufactured in GM’s Talegaon plant. This is expected to be powered by the 1.3-litre multijet engine and since it is sourced from China, the production cost is expected to be low.

The MPV will be 7-8 seater and can be great competition for the Xylo considering its pricing. Looking at the pictures of the interior, one can see it has black and beige dual tone interiors and an aftermarket stereo. It rides on 175/65/R14 tyres and it gets features like power windows and the ORVMS are manually-adjustable.

We believe the CN-100 has flexible rear seating as the second and third row of seats can be folded flat. GM might target the passenger and taxi market with the MPV and we expect the car to be launched by the end of this year.
Specs (Speculated)
Engine: 1.3-litre multijet engine
CarWale's Words: The MPV can be a run away hit in the taxi segment.

Tata Manza CS (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 5.5-7.5lakh
Tata Manza CS is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Tata Manza CS Review

Tata Motors has been expanding its range by adding more variants to its current portfolio. The Pimpri-based automaker launched the Aria 4x2 this month to fill in the price gap between the already existing Safari and the 4x4 version of the Aria. The Vista will soon get a facelift (as we had mentioned in our older story) where the car will get some features from its elder sibling the Manza.

Now, Tata plans to introduce the compact version of its Manza. Being built on the same platform as the Manza, it can tempt buyers of top-end Vista to opt for more rear seat leg-room and a larger boot, since the sedan has a longer wheelbase than the Vista by 50mm. It will even attract Manza customers who want can afford a lower variant of the Manza to shift to higher version of the Manza CS, since the Manza CS will avail the duty cut for being less than 4 metres. The Manza CS is likely to be powered by the same 1.4-litre SAFIRE and 1.3-litre Quadrajet engines and expected to come in by the end of 2011 or probably early 2012.
Specs (Speculated)
Engine: 1.4-litre petrol engine, 1.3-litre common rail diesel engine
Power: 90bhp, 93bhp
CarWale's Words: The Manza CS will be a great option to fill in the gap between the Vista and the Manza.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 5-7lakh
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Review

India is a country obsessed with vehicles that can pack in a lot of people. Naturally, since Indian families tend to be large. Indeed, it is one of the primary reasons why people buy SUVs and MUVs, for the number of people that can fit in. Among low cost MUVs Maruti Suzuki has done well with the Eeco. So now Maruti is preparing the RIII, for the segment where even GM wants to enter with its own vehicles made in collaboration with its Chinese partner.

The RIII was first revealed at the 2010 Auto Expo as a concept car. Now, the production prototype is ready and we expect the company to launch it next year. While the concept was a swanky looking thing, the production car has lost quite a bit of glamour. The design has been toned down to match production specs and costs and now the RIII looks more real.Nonetheless a raked bonnet and a two-tier grille give the front identity. In profile the suicide doors have been done away with and in place come conventional doors. The rear door works as a hatch and houses the registration plate and also sports rear wash and wipe.

Inside, the RIII gets a large dash and in top-of-the-line variants, the RIII will get electric ORVMs, climate control, steering mounted controls and airbags as well. The RIII will be a seven-seater (six-seater in top-end trim) with three rows of seats. However, the boot will only be effective once the third row of seats have been folded down. The RIII will also come equipped with ABS and airbags in the top variants. The RIII will be offered in both petrol and diesel motor options. The petrol is sure to be the 4-cylinder K-series engine and the diesel would be the super efficient 1.3-litre DDiS engine, which also does duty in the Swift, SX4 and the Ritz. However it is expected to offer around 90bhp in the RIII. We expect Maruti Suzuki to price it in the Rs 5- 7 lakh bracket, considering that it is tad smaller than the likes of the Xylo and Innova.
Specs (Speculated)
Engine: 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre multijet
CarWale's Words: If the diesel variant has good power, it will give some tough time to the current market leaders.

Chevrolet New Captiva (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 20-26 Lakh
Chevrolet New Captiva is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Chevrolet New Captiva Review

Chevrolet is all set to launch the new Captiva, with a new front end. With its signature two-tier grille and oversized bow tie logo. The headlamps too have been redone. There’s also more bulk to the wheel arches and larger wheels. The rest of the SUV remains more or less the same. However speculation is ripe that Chevy might offer the Captiva with the new 2.2-litre diesel which is currently on duty in the Cruze. This should make it a more capable candidate.

Mahindra New Verito (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 6-8 Lakh
Mahindra New Verito is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Mahindra New Verito Review

Post split, Mahindra has made subtle changes on the Verito, formerly known as the Logan. However these are changes on a minimalistic level. Now Mahindra plans something more substantial. The company is working hard on morphing the Logan into a sub 4m car. This means, like the Tata Indigo CS, the Verito too will have its boot chopped off. This would ensure that the Verito complies to the small car norms and will benefit from less duties. Interiors too will be tarted up in tune with the outside. The engine will be the 1.5-litre Renault sourced diesel unit.
The result could be a highly competitively priced, super efficient and affordable sedan.

Ford Fiesta AT (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 11-12 Lakh
Ford Fiesta AT is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Ford Fiesta AT Review

The Fiesta sedan, currently on sale here, too will get something new in 2012. The sedan is now offered with either a 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. However the company is soon going to offer the Fiesta with its double clutch Powershift gearbox. The Powershift ‘box has recently been introduced and packs in some revolutionary technologies. For example when the brakes are applied the gearbox disconnects from the drive which is claimed by Ford to increase efficiency. However expect a much higher pricetag making it a more premium purchase than it is now.

Mercedes-Benz M-class (Upcoming)

Expected Launch: Early 2012
Expected Price: Rs 60-70 Lakh
Mercedes-Benz M-class is not launched in India yet. Information on this page is tentative.

Mercedes-Benz M-class Review

The new M-class gets a redone front end and rear. The headlamps are new and so is the big bumper up front. Interiors too are spruced up in tune with the exteriors making way for more features per se. It will be available with a choice of three engines across variants which will consist of the ML250 Bluetec, ML350 Bluetec and the ML350 BlueEfficiency. All new M-class variants would come with a seven-speed automatic transmission and have 4Matic all-wheel-drive. Optional self-levelling Airmatic suspension with selective damping will also be available.
